FAQ

Why weights on the side of the quads?
Outer-quad loading activates the lateral thigh and hip stabilizers that support balance, alignment, and controlled movement.

Are the pockets internal or external?
These are external quad pockets for quick loading and unloading.

How much weight do they hold?
Up to 0.91 kg (2 lb) standard, or 1.81 kg (4 lb) when pockets are double-loaded.

Will the weights stay put?
Yes. The compression fit holds them against the thigh during movement.

Warnings: Consult a physician before beginning any resistance training. Keep weights away from young children.

INTEGRATED STRENGTHWEAR

LOAD THE MUSCLE, NOT THE JOINT

Wrist and ankle weights hang off your joints. Integrated Strengthwear puts small, removable weights over the muscles of your arms and legs, spread across several pockets. Every step, stride and rep asks those muscles to move and control a little more. Same activity, more work from every move.

How it works

Three steps. No new workout to learn.

  • 01Man wearing a black PTP Plyoslide Microweighted Vest over a grey training tee.

    PICK YOUR PIECE

Pick any garments or selection or garments and accessories

  • 02Close-up of a removable pocket weight being inserted into a PTP Motion Microweighted Calf Sleeve.

    ADD THE WEIGHTS

Slide the pockets weights into the place. Arms take small pocket weight (look for the green packaging). Lower body and torso require large pocket weights (orange packaging).

  • 03Woman running outdoors in black PTP Pace Microweighted Leggings with calf weight pockets.

    Move more

Three out of four Australians aren't getting the recommend amount of muscle strengthening activity. Integrated strengthwear provides an easy way to incorporate strength training into your everyday without finding the time for another session or to learn a different movement.

The science

Same walk. More work.

Wearable resistance is backed by more than a decade of research. A review of 32 studies found that well-placed resistance can raise the muscle and energy demand of walking, running, sprinting and jumping. Then we tested ours: the same walking and jogging session, with and without Integrated Strengthwear.

  • 35%
    more calories burned*
  • 74%
    faster to reach
    training intensity*
  • 3to4%
    of body weight:
    the load we tested
  • 32
    studies in the
    research review

Perceived effort stayed about the same, even at the higher measured intensity.*

*Strongest responders in matched, single-session treadmill testing: the same walking and jogging conditions with and without a calf-anchored, distributed load of about 3 to 4% of body weight. Not typical results; individual results vary. "74% faster" is the time taken to reach the training-intensity threshold, not running speed. Research: Macadam, Cronin & Simperingham, Sports Medicine 2017; Browning et al., Med Sci Sports Exerc 2007; Field et al., Sports 2019; Kilogear testing (Willis, 2026).

How much weight should you wear?

Work towards 3 to 4% of your body weight. More isn't better; the weight should never change the way you move.

  • Your body weight50 to 65 kg
    Target load1.5 to 2.6 kg
  • Your body weight65 to 85 kg
    Target load1.9 to 3.4 kg
  • Your body weight85 to 105 kg
    Target load2.5 to 4.1 kg
  1. 01

Start gradually and increase the weight over time

  2. 02

Increase weight OR time, not both at once

  3. 03

If it changes how you move or feels uncomfortable lessen the weight
