FAQ
Basketball training, answered.
What equipment helps you jump higher?
Jump height comes mostly from hip and glute power and good landing technique. A mini band like the Microband X builds the glutes, a weighted jump rope trains quick, springy contacts, and resistance tubes add load to squats and lunges. Pair them with a regular jump program.
Are resistance bands good for basketball training?
Yes. Bands load the movements basketball uses most, like side steps, hip extension and shoulder rotation, and they fit in a kit bag. Players often use them to warm up before games and to keep their strength up in season, when gym time is short.
How should basketball players warm up?
Lift your heart rate, wake up your hips and shoulders, then add a few jumps. Start with the lateral band walk on this page, then a few minutes with a speed rope.
What helps recovery after back-to-back games?
Sleep and food come first. After that, ten minutes on a foam roller for your calves, quads and back, release work on your feet and hips with massage balls, and gentle stretching with a Flexiband help you feel ready for the next game.
Basketball at PTP
Basketball training gear, explained.
Basketball asks four things of your body: vertical power, fast changes of direction, strength through contact and the ability to recover for the next game. This collection sorts PTP training equipment into three phases, so you can build a kit around the gaps in your game instead of buying everything at once.
To prepare, start with a Microband X mini band, a light Powertube+ and a speed rope. To train, add a heavier Powertube+ for pushing, pulling and rotation, the Power Weighted Jump Rope for springy feet, and Core Sliders or the Ab Sculpt for your trunk. To recover, use a fascia release roller, massage balls and a Flexiband sized to your height. Every product here was hand-picked by Matthew Dellavedova and suits players from juniors to seniors.
